What is Carlington Hill and can you go sledding there?
Short answer
Carlington Hill is a large hill with long gradual slopes. Part of it was once a ski hill with a tow lift (Anne Heggtveit Hill) and is now a City of Ottawa approved sledding hill.
As of · Updated
The western part of the hill was quarried for limestone and is now a city snow dump. The Carlington Heights Reservoir and Pump Station on top supplies about one third of the city's water, according to Wikipedia.
Keep in mind. Check the City of Ottawa for current sledding hill conditions and rules.
